Remembrance weekend in Morley was marked by two solemn, well attended events, The Morley Festival of Remembrance on Friday the 7th of November at Morley town Hall, and the Remembrance Sunday Service. Prospective Conservative MP for Morley and Outwood Andrea Jenkyns attended both events, including singing in Festival of Remembrance.
Andrea said "I would like to take this opportunity to praise the hard work of Terry Grayshon for all his efforts in organising the Remembrance weekend.
Friday’s ‘Festival of Remembrance’ was simply beautiful; I was personally moved to tears with the Salvation Army Band’s rendition of Nimrod accompanied by pictures on the screen of all those who have died in war.
Thousands must have attended Sunday’s Remembrance Service and young and old were really brought together to remember those who gave their lives for us. Both events were well organised, incredibly moving and the support that they received really demonstrates the depth of compassion that Morleans have. Terry did Morley proud."
