At a meeting organised by Conservative Parliamentary Candidate Andrea Jenkyns, at her constituency office, Mr Pickles listened to concerns about the proposed development on the Fieldhead site near Newton Hill, where Miller Homes are seeking to drive an access road through the last remaining piece of greenbelt in the WF1 area.
Ms Jenkyns, who joined the successful campaign to stop the previous and almost identical application to build on the greenbelt at Fieldhead, has written to Wakefield Council to object to the new application.
Andrea Jenkyns said “The lack of proper consultation by Wakefield Council on planning developments such as this one is a serious problem. Planners need to be more accountable and they should consider the impact of their decisions on local infrastructure. I hope they see sense and reject this proposal again”
